The coin will be offered in Teletrade's Contemporary Classics Auction #2817 on Sunday, February 28, 2010. "This is the most important Silver Eagle - and one of the most important Modern Bullion coins - ever to appear in one of our auctions," stated Teletrade President Ian Russell. "The 1995-W has always been a rare and valuable issue in grades up to and including Proof-69 Deep Cameo, a limited mintage of 30,125 pieces confirming it as the rarest coin in the Silver Eagle series of 1986-date. It is also a significant issue as the first Silver Eagle to display the W mintmark of the West Point Mint." Continued Russell: "In Proof-70 Deep Cameo the 1995-W is also a major condition rarity with a PCGS-certified population of just two coins. The other PCGS Proof-70 Deep Cameo sold to an important collector a few years ago via private treaty, which means that the coin we are offering is the only example in this grade that is currently available to PCGS Set Registry collectors.
